End users are legally obliged to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. After use, these can be returned either to a municipal collection point, to a retailer or directly to us (see imprint for address) for disposal free of charge. Used batteries may contain harmful substances or heavy metals that can damage the environment and health. Batteries can be recycled as they contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel. Batteries and rechargeable batteries that contain harmful substances are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin and the chemical name of the harmful substance.
